DAY SHIFT SUPERVISOR
Wrandi Eckley
Hi! I’m Wrandi! I graduated from Vatterott College in 2012 with my Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification. I started out working in small animal clinics, where I spent four years gaining hands-on experience and building a strong foundation in veterinary care.
After that, I had the amazing opportunity to work at the Henry Doorly Zoo for eight years. It was an incredible experience that allowed me to work with a wide variety of species and really expand my skills beyond the typical household pets.
In 2024, I decided it was time for a change and was lucky enough to join the team here at Southpaw Veterinary Clinic. I’m excited to be back in a clinic setting where I can build lasting relationships with pets and their families.
Outside of work, I’m married to my wonderful husband, David. We have a daughter named Marley and another little one on the way! Our home is full of animals (just the way I like it) – and we have three dogs (Karl, Dexter and Suzi), one cat named Noodles, a leopard gecko named Lunchbox and a flock of twelve chickens.
I’m passionate about what I do and I’m looking forward to meeting you and your pets!
NIGHT SHIFT SUPERVISOR
Sarah Piper
After working in a veterinary clinic for 10 years, Sarah finally went to school to get her degree and is a 2010 graduate of Vatterott College. Sarah has a passion for Neonatal patients, especially her kitten that was less than 24 hours old when she took over his care. Doug is almost 6 now and he rules her house! Sarah‘s other interests are Pharmacology, Anesthesia and Dentistry. She has an adult daughter Hannah and a grandpuppy Pickle who she adores. Her favorite breed is Golden Retrievers, and Aries is coming soon!
LEAD TECH/TRAINING MANAGER
Jenn Vazquez
Jennifer graduated from Vatterott College in 2022 with her LVT. She then went on to work in an AAHA 7 doctor practice for the next 20 years. She eventually worked her way up the management ladder to the lead technician manager. After 20 years, Jen decided to take a two- year hiatus where she was able to perfect her management skills in the human medicine realm. She soon realized she missed making a difference on the animal side and came back to veterinary medicine. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her two children. She is also fond of beagles and enjoys frequent snuggles with her two beagles Brianna and Sandy that are affectionately nicknamed “The Grannies”.
OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR
Jamee Miner
I obtained my Veterinary Assistant license through Metropolitan Community College. I am currently enrolled at Penn Foster for my technician degree. I have been with Southpaw since it opened in 2022. I have two dogs: Copper (11) and Ace (2).
HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
Misty Rys
Hi, I’m Misty! I’ve been part of the Southpaw team for just over 10 months as the Human Resources Manager, and I also help out at the front desk when needed. Before coming to Southpaw, I spent 17 years at the Henry Doorly Zoo as the Hospital Coordinator. I handled admin and medical records in the zoo’s hospital and supported the veterinary staff with a variety of tasks. It was an incredible experience and deepened my love for working around animals.
I’m happily divorced and a proud mom to two sons, Jordan and Chance. At home, I also have two dogs (Pixie and Precious) and two cats (Diva and Biggie). Being surrounded by animals, both at sowrk and at home, has always been a big part of my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Jen Blodgett
I have a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies from Southern New Hampshire University that I put to use to become a manager of medical clinics, both human and veterinary. I have been on the veterinary side of the field for 4 years. I have a husband (Ryan) and three children (Noah, Nicholas & Norah). We have three dogs, (Ruggles, Bailey & Burnie), two turtles (Maverick & Goose) and a cockatoo (Randi).
Reception
Jenny Brown
Two years ago I had the opportunity to leave human healthcare for veterinary, and I’ve never looked back. My significant other Nate, son Tatum and daughter Paxton all share my same passion for pets. We have two Great Danes- Stella and Scout, as well as an adorable mutt Remi. I am a hopeless pet “rescue” addict and have to constantly be told no to taking in any and every needy case.
